Outside a few niches, almost everything is better on Linux now. It should be the default and would be better for most users if it were what they started with.
Windows (and Linux) will die of old age before Linux takes over the desktop.
That said, we’re already seeing problems caused by Linux “monoculture” (the very thing we didn’t like about windows in the 90s) - OSS supporting just Linux and no other open source operating systems.
Or as I gleaned from the jargon file “all the world’s a vax.”
