When I used to work with networking equipment I'd occasionally get calls from rural ISPs with bonkers overpowered equipment. To their credit, they were providing amazing service, but really just because they chose to do so.

Unfortunately, most ISPs in the US are all but monopolies, or straight up monopolies and you're dependent on their choosing to do a good job, or they can just chose not to...
