Show HN: I built a Shazam for movies (identify films from clips in seconds)

Hey HN,

I built WhatMovie – a tool that helps you identify movies just by uploading a short clip.

Why I made this: I’ve had countless times where I saw a scene on social media or in a video edit and wanted to know which movie it was from. Searching by keywords rarely works, and existing tools are mostly for music (like Shazam).

How it works:

Upload a clip (up to ~30s).

The system analyzes it and returns the movie title + details.

Built with modern AI video understanding under the hood.

Still an early version, but it’s functional and already helped me rediscover a bunch of films. I’d love feedback on the idea, UX, and what features you think would make this genuinely useful.
