I brought my old 2012 MacBook air back with MATE instead of an old OSX version - same perf benefits and no half-measure security patch malarkey.

The little animation applied to paragraphs and other page elements here is cute, but in the bad UX kind of way. Is there a way to disable it?

Any site, especially with a good article that I want to read, I just hit the Reader mode the moment it does anything weird, such as any form of movement or uses bad and undisciplined Typography.

Thanks, you're not the first to complain about them. I might get rid of them. But, they make the site feel playful, which was a key design goal for me.

They'll go away if you disable Javascript.

Edit: ...the animations are gone at least for now while I think about what to do with them.
