In China, there is no wall of separation between "company" and "government". If government wants to dictate operations and policy to a company, there is no legal basis for the company to refuse.
Any suggestion otherwise (TikTok for example) is really just a ruse intended for western consumption.
Foxconn is just the latest example. Moving production out of China while still relying on a Chinese company is not a workable proposition that will be sustained for very long.
