It's worth emphasizing that most of this abrupt drop is from Trump's bureaucratic bungling, rather than fundamentals of markets and products.

As a technical metaphor, they abruptly disabled an API with basically no warning, and everybody else has to implement complicated business logic in order to regain old functionality.
