The US headlight regulations are too stringent. Why 250 meters? What if I want a kilometer of illumination because I live in a rural area? Why can’t I have the advanced matrix lighting European cars can have?

Uh, they are. I'm driving a car with them right now (well, it's in my driveway). A 2021 Audi RS 5.
