Are these “excessively paid servers” working 40 hour jobs with benefits, or are they hourly piece-workers without them? Even for younger people, health costs are real and it’s nice to build up something for the future. As the first poster mentioned, if your company depends on lower cost, part time staff it’s profiting from their distress. Particularly if their hours aren’t fixed (limiting their ability to work 2x).
Perhaps there’s just too many delivery services or people who feel cash constrained or aren’t into drinking?

Full-service restaurants as a mass product were only sustainable due to mass exploitation of illegal immigrants and abusive labor practices. They were modern slavery. If people are to be treated as people even to the minimal degree, full-service restaurants are to be an elite kind of establishment completely inaccessible for the ordinary folk.
