My experience with RAG was that it was oversold, but at the same time, the cost per token means feeding in multiple 200 pages of documents is impossible for many use cases, it gets too expensive too quickly as people start to use it. If the use case you're looking at requires that, then stuffing it all into context is not going to work any time soon.
