China Went from Clean Energy Copycat to Global Innovator

I think sanctions will make China an innovation hothouse.

What is the difference between a copycat and an apprentice? Nothing. You cannot innovate without learning the basics first.

Just last week Josef Prusa mentioned China and 3d printer patents[0]. Now this is vision 2030 in my opinion. (A whole country moving with sheer cohesive intent and plan)

My leaders should steal some pages off China's playbook.

Only about 45 % of Nigerians are connected to the grid, with average daily supply lasting mere hours or sometimes none at all.

Compare that to Ghana’s ~88 % access rate and its more stable electricity system. I won't even bother with the Aso Rock’s solar setup[2].

It's a pretty straight forward play book at this stage

1. CPC identifies strategic industry and sets national objective. 2. Local governments come up with policy support at provincial level 3. Private companies emerge to eat the subsidies / support 4. This triggers intense domestic competition 5. Winners become national champions and go global / Losers go global anyway to try and find a market to win.

Rinse and repeat on every industry you care about.
