Ask HN: AI as a solution to the declining population problem in many countries?

One way to increase population is to simply pay adults raising children enough so that they don’t need traditional jobs.
Since AI is already replacing many jobs, the reduction in people participating in the traditional job market may not be a problem.
So, do you think AI could help solve the declining population problem in this way?

Why bother with families at all? Just introduce a market-based wage for having a kid, paid till the age of 18, inflation adjusted, but set at new every year based on supply and demand (say decide you need TFR of 2.1 and that's it). Poor women will quickly fulfill the demand. They are not at all fussy about kids. It won't be too expensive. A woman can have 6-8 kids biologically, if half of the 20% most poorest will do it, it will fill the gap between real and desired TFR.

Introducing a delay into a feedback control system makes it highly unstable, prone to oscillation or lockup. An 18-year delay? Well, you could try, I guess. Just let me move a long way away first.

Why a delay? TFR can be measured precisely enough over very short intervals of time. Essentially, delay in a feedback control mechanism is only the duration of pregnancy term that makes an abortion illegal. A few months, not years.
