Lots of chips have prop65 warnings and/or a statement that they cannot be sold in California. It doesn’t seem to have hurt sales.

If you’re wondering, it has to do with the temperature of the oil that they are cooked in. In the same sense that drinking too much water all at once is deadly, you’d have to eat a LOT of chips in a short amount of time for them to be dangerous.

“Doritos and Mountain Dew could carry a new ‘not recommended for human consumption’ warning under landmark Texas bill”

Emphasis mine.

Texas is not the first state that came to mind for something like this.

I mean, the bill hasn't been signed yet, but still...

The criterion is interesting, too - if they carry dyes or other ingredients that have been banned by other countries. If you don't trust the FDA, I guess just outsource it.

Oddly, this would likely increase sales

Honestly, the first thing in a while I have seen my state do that isn't a total embarassment.
