Ask HN: how should we complain about companies posting in "who's hiring"

Who’s hiring rules stipulate “ Commenters: please don't reply to job posts to complain about something. It's off topic here.”

One of the strengths of the thread would be to flag poor hiring practices.

If we can’t do it there, can we flag it somewhere else?

If you have evidence of a poster being a bad actor, email us at hn@ycombinator.com.

The problem with posting complaints publicly is that the community (and we moderators) can never know the full story, so there's a risk that it could unfairly tarnish a company's reputation. It could also be gamed by competitors or others trying to hurt the company.

We're not a court of law so we can't be a forum for litigating disputes.

But if you send us an email containing any details of abusive conduct, we can consider taking action just the way we would against anyone else abusing HN.

Personally, I don't find random anonymous comments about a given company to be useful. Folks with a bone to pick are going to be the folks who really get into that stuff.

Otherwise, I don't think there's any magical platform here on HN just for complaints, thankfully.
