I have the Olight bolt-action pen & "infinite pencil" combo, and I'm happy with it so far. (I got it in a package deal with a flashlight.)
But let's not make these too popular, either by hyping them up or going all John Wick: pretty soon TSA and the courts won't allow entry with any unapproved writing implements.

TIL: silverpoint pencils use various silver-tin-lead alloys instead of graphite; they were common as unbreakable EDC pocket writing tools.

are you afraid the tsa will also take your mall katana?

No, but I am concerned that it will confiscate my tap water without either reasonable suspicion or probable cause.

... Is this a _joke_? Any pen heavy enough to be a useful weapon surely isn't particularly usable as a pen? Is the idea that you are supposed to _poke_ people with it or something?
Also I can't help wondering if there are strategic pens. MIRV pens seem like they'd be particularly unhelpful.
