> JD.com (9618.HK), is selling the iPhone 16 Pro with storage of 128GB at 5,469 yuan

That is roughly $759, including sales Tax and import tax. So Chinese government collects around $100 of tax revenue. Compared to the US $999, before sales tax. Apple is effectively selling it below $659. Assuming JD is making some profits although that may not always be true.

But in any case I have been saying this for so many years I dont know why it hasn't gotten traction. Apple's has been pricing the world's iPhone to subsidise the Chinese market while maintaining their own margin.

Well the parts of the world that don't welcome Chinese competition deservedly pay a higher price for their phones. That is just the market at work. Apple isn't subsidizing their Chinese sales any more than Toyota is subsidizing theirs.
