EVs reduce climate pollution, but by how much? New U-M research has the answer

EVs are much simpler than ICE vehicles. And this simplicity will eventually lead to lower cost --- both purchase cost and operating cost.
Most of the cost of an EV is In the battery. We are one battery breakthrough away from an EV takeover of the "free market" for autos.
China knows this. Elon Musk knows this --- and so do the powers that be in the USA.
China is working to own the world wide auto market. The USA is working to isolate itself and perpetuate ICE for as long as possible --- not because it advantages the country or it's industry or it's citizens but because it is advantageous to select entrenched interests.
Current policy is inherently hostile to the well being of the country and it's citizens. "America First" really means isolation and obsolescence and "America Last" in the global marketplace and consequently a decline in American living standards.
In short, it is a capitulation to Chinese dominance.
