Show HN: Pinery – A native macOS app for self-publishing with Markdown
I've spent the last couple of years building Pinery with a single mission: I wanted a tool that bridged the gap between simple Markdown editors and complex layout software like InDesign.
Pinery is my attempt at a solution. It combines a clean, distraction-free Markdown editor with a powerful, real-time visual styling mode. You can control typography, spacing, and layout visually, and see the changes instantly.
Key features:
- Write in Markdown with AI-assisted text tools (leveraging macOS frameworks)
- Customize the design with advanced typography controls
- Live preview your document as a PDF or on eReader (simulated e-Ink display)
- Export to ePub 3, PDF, and HTML (for a static website)
- Works fully offline

It's a freemium app. The free version lets you write, design, and export to PDF. The Pro subscription unlocks ePub and HTML export.
I'd love to hear your feedback and am here to answer any questions!
