When Revel first came to New York their drivers were all employees. That, for me, was the compelling reason for paying up.
Then they, like everyone else (except Waymo so far), abandoned the premium part of the market and converted their drivers to contractors and seemingly pulled the plug on customer service. One horrible service experience later and I deleted the app.
