It's like how Triplebyte paid off half of the tech bloggers to write blog posts with the title "hiring is broken" until Triplebyte went out of business. (Spammed too much? Nobody wants to work with them anymore?) Or whoever it was that was splogging about how you shouldn't use JSON Web Tokens.
Trouble with "billing is edge case hell" is that if you code up your own billing solution you can 100% make it behave the way you want it to behave even if it is "hell". Buy some solution from a fly by night vendor who splogs and you might find the answer is "you can't get here from there" unless you code it up yourself or find a more reliable vendor.
