A thing to pay attention to in this trade war is how China, Canada, and Europe are trying very hard to only target red states. They know they have nothing to gain by putting pressure on California or Washington. Blue states are already anti-Trump so they are trying to focus the pain on Trumpland in hopes that they will in turn pressure their Republican congressmans.
