Show HN: Nyx – an AI sleep assistant to stop doomscrolling
The idea was to create something boring on purpose that helps me wind down without dragging me back into my phone. Nyx is a little AI sleep assistant that:
• Guides simple routines (breathing, short bedtime stories, white/brown noise) • Has a calming voice mode so I can put the phone face-down and just talk to it • Learns what actually helps me fall asleep and adapts over time • Keeps the interface dark, minimal, and low-stimulation (big text, no feeds, no animations)
It’s not a miracle cure, but it’s been helping me fall asleep faster and avoid the “one more scroll” trap.
I’d love feedback from the HN community:
• Would you use an AI companion like this at bedtime, or is it too much tech in the bedroom? • What routines or tools have you tried that actually improved your sleep?
