If you “vibe code” [0] and end up deleting your data I have zero sympathy for you. In fact, I think it’s a good thing. Maybe it will help burst that particular bubble quicker.

These articles should be ridiculing the “developer” instead of framing it as “Ai DeLeTeD X”. AI didn’t do anything, a careless developer did it (by using LLMs unchecked). You wouldn’t say “rm deleted data”, you’d say “some careless dev deleted data”.

The only people stupider than those trusting LLMs completely to write code for them are the people who think it’s the LLM’s fault when something like this happens.
