The recent scam by remote engineer popped up, and I felt an itch to build — purely out of amusement — and the urge to see if something useful might could come out of it.
So, thanks to Firebase, Tally.so, Caffeine, Cursor, GPT and music that was just fine: https://aretheyblacklisted.com
A community-led noticeboard of harmful or exploitative behavior by individuals. This isn’t a polished product. It’s basically a public database with a fancy background. No monetisation.
How it works:
Think Glassdoor, but for individuals Reports require verified identity (e.g., company email) The person named has a public right-of-reply Searchable via LinkedIn or email
What it’s not:
A place to vent about “bad vibes” An anonymous rumor board A fact-checking platform — it’s a public report, not a verdict
Would love thoughts on moderation, false claims, and whether this kind of thing should even exist.
