In lots of fields, there's more research from businesses R&D departments than from academia, and they publish papers in journals just like academia.

Getting someone to try to reproduce your research is extremely difficult, inside and outside academia, unless it's something revolutionary.

Thanks Dustin. This would be acceptable... however, this is an interdisciplinary effort and, perhaps ironically, absolutely requires mentors and peers to fill in the gaps (because my knowledge is inherently imperfect.) I could use LLMs to help with the research but... what to do about the matter of provenance, tradition, and lineage? Is this not the spirit of the thing?

1) If you have artifacts: poster session as one commenter suggested

2) If you don't or need validation for a study proposal, become good friends with (institutionalized) behavioral economist.

3) I wouldn't recommend publishing anything at this stage, that would most likely not contribute to your credibility
