I have a "wild" area around the borders of my home. I love it.

However, the idea that it is wonderful to just leave entirely is a little alien to me. I don't mow or landscape it like a yard, but it IS work to even just leave it wild. We've got several invasive species in my area and it's a regular fight with them to allow the local species to thrive.

The invasive species wouldn't be invasive if local species were able to handle them ... it is still work to trim them out / fight them.
