Not to diminish the work of the scientists, but I think the relevant part of the article is :

"They found that when the flakes are cooled to 300 millikelvins (about -273 degrees Celsius), the material turns into a superconductor"

And the material is a particular form of graphite.

For me, the grail (I know it's a dream) would be a superconductor that works at ambient temperature and pressure.
