Is the hallucinogenic "trip" needed for therapeutic benefits from psychedelics?

Though the lasting benefits to my mood and mindset are worth it, I find the actual 'trips' from psychedelics to be very uncomfortable, so I would be interested in being able to skip that.

Anecdotally, I've began experimenting with taking mushrooms immediately before going to sleep. It doesn't seem to have as much of a lasting effect as taking them during the day does, and if I take them too long before bed it can be difficult to fall asleep, but other than that it's been working well. No significant changes to my sleep or how rested I feel, other than more vivid dreams than usual.

It’s incredibly annoying that it will probably be cheaper/easier to get the “real deal” than these analogs for some time. I could buy some LSD or ibogaine right now, who knows how long before I get to eat some TBG. The party scene isn’t going to want it. edit: it is possible to get easily, just expensive. I guess I’ll report back :)

I have also had good experience with sleep-shrooming, I agree it seems to minimize the sedating aftereffects. Also probably helps avoid any wildcard ontological shock.

Out of curiosity, how much have you tried taking before sleep? I lean towards microdosing during the day (to avoid the 'trip') so I'm a bit worried about upping the nighttime dose.

Also, I would be very curious to hear how the TBG turns out.
