There is a ton of AI spam on YouTube. It often takes a minute before you realize it, because the voice narration is getting better. But the giveaway I see is repetitive circular information. The videos are made to be long (maybe for ad revenue?) and so there’s an unusual amount of empty low quality content during the video.

They also include an LLM replying to comments to drive engagement of the channel; this is particularly visible for YT shorts.

But what's worse is 90% of people replying to the LLM seem to think it's a genuine person that they're interacting with, even when it's so obvious that it's not.

The main reason it's drowning out anything else is people mindlessly following an algorithmic feed. If you curate who you watch then you're generally not going to see such slop. But unfortunately it seems following the algorithm is the norm and so it affects the creators negatively anyway.
