I stopped using SO years ago, but when I did use it, the reason that I read the comments wasn't because of a "deep interest in human-to-human context" but because the accepted answer was often not helpful (usually outdated, but sometimes incorrect) and I was looking to see if anyone gave a better answer or explanation.
