A whole article about privacy, but "trust" was not mentioned even once.

Privacy fatigue doesn't happen because people keep hearing about it. It happens because they keep getting burned; everything says it's private. Your phone, your email provider, your debit card company, your bank, your browser, all insist that they do their diligence. But why do our passwords leak regardless? Was it really that 15 MAU SaaS you paid for, or is it the 70 million user leak from Yahoo? Who can know? Why would I try to find out? Would it even be worth trying to learn from that kind of mistake?

The solution to privacy fatigue is to stop trusting others. It won't stop you from being hacked, but it will absolutely stop you from repeating the same stupid mistakes that put your data in the hands of other people.
