Hey HN! I built AreYouFree, a scheduling tool that makes coordinating meetings across timezones much easier. It's similar to when2meet.com but with a modern tech stack and better UX.

Key features: - Drag-and-select calendar interface - Automatic timezone conversion - Multi-language support - Password protection for private events - Dark mode - Built with React, TypeScript, and FastAPI

What sets it apart from when2meet: - You can edit events after creation (a major pain point with when2meet) - Modern, responsive UI - Better timezone handling - Open source and actively maintained

Looks like just the thing I have been looking for! Just three minor issues so far. Firstly, when creating an event it seems I can choose dates in the past? As my usecase is for a group of extremely non-technincal people, this could create issues, Secondly: I can't delete an event I created? Or perhaps that could simply create problems (as in: "Sorry, I happened to delete our event - again!"). Thirdly. I'm assuming there is no privacy-related dataharvesting going on, but it would probably serve you well to have an explicit privacy policy which states just that.

One more thing: meetings can only start and end at half or whole hours (which probably covers most cases). I would however have preferred to be able to edit the minutes, for the odd case where some other time could be preferred.

Hi, thanks for your very helpful comments! I just updated the website so you can't choose dates before today, and I also added a delete function. Now if you're the creator or have the password, you can delete the event. Otherwise, you can't delete it.

For the minute-level time selection, I agree it would be very useful, especially for busy people. I'm thinking about the best way to implement this meanwhile keep a clean interface.
