I'm trying to decide whether this is a valid decision in response to a slow expensive modernization project, or setting up conditions for a change in how the LoC treats copyrights, which could have huge implications for the AI industry.

EDIT: per the press secretary, their objection is to DEI and 'the inclusion of books in the library that were inappropriate for children.'

As far as I'm aware, you have to be at least 16 to visit the LoC. I'm gonna hazard a guess that some in the executive branch are unclear on the concept of what the LoC does.
