Apple --- they drag their feet or outright refuse to implement standards and APIs that might infringe on their app store profits.

Without everyone playing along, the full promise of PWAs can't be realized.

I've ended up conflicted about PWAs. Part of me thinks they are a really great idea. But then I don't get the option to add a page within the site to my home screen, just an option to install the app [1]. Also the update process is opaque and hard to manage during development. So I just don't know how to feel.

[1] a work around is to go to the page, switch off WiFi, refresh the page (with error), and then you can add to home screen. It works for me!

Not sure, but I know that if I have a choice, I strongly prefer avoiding PWAs. All of the ones I've used have had irritating UI peculiarities and limitations.
