I understand why they'd take action against something like this, but at the same time, people should have a right to modify the devices they bought and paid for in any way they want to. Saying "well someone could use this for piracy" doesn't justify punishing the law abiding users, too, and I don't think the manufacturer should be the arbiter of if you're allowed to use their product in any terms. This definitely isn't worth ruining someone's life over with massive tort claims, either.
