As a liberal I find the dynamic between left and right inclusion interesting. Trying to be as fair as possible it seems like the philosophy of the left is try to include everyone as much as possible. This does over-index to sometimes not include those in the majority, but generally speaking I think the philosophy is if you're not hurting anyone you should be ok.
Whereas on the right, there is a goal to define normal and not normal. So Gay Republicans are in some way very concerned about normal and abnormal, similarly to the religious right, they just firmly believe they themselves are normal, and some may want to other folks who they see as not normal (LGB without theT ); it's just interesting to me that this dynamic leads to the fact that the "big tent" includes people who are gay, and people who want to kill people who are gay, and if they gays lose the argument... ;
I don't think that particular dynamic exists quite so starkly on the left( the argument that there is an incompatibility of trying to include both muslims and gays, but I think this dynamic is overstate for political reasons on the right) but correct me if I'm wrong.

> both muslims and gays
Not sure why you picked those two specific groups as polar opposites; is Islam's stance on homosexuality particularly different from Christianity's, or Judaism's, or Hinduism's?
I'd rather have someone who openly hates gay people in charge than someone who's "progressive" right up until they run into something they don't like.
I know very well I can trust to your "solidarity" about as far as I can throw you.

So.... what? LGB, etc., is bad now, because Trump supports gays? What??

I think it is more like a double standard. If you are useful in someway you demographic/beliefs are less important, breakdown of the "rule of law". Also, when you start being more problematic than useful you could be hung out to dry. How many time has Trump appointed someone saying something like "This guy is the greatest." and later fired them saying "I barely even knew the guy'?
