Support for Israel's genocide will forever be a stain on the moral legitimacy of "the west" that silicon valley visionaries like Alex Karp love so much. Hey, maybe we aren't the good guys here? How can you claim that western civilization is morally superior when we aid and abet the slaughter of children?

Only after it's too late for Gaza, will the West give Israel a slap on the wrist. After some half-assed sanctions they will be best buddies again and the sanctions will be lifted silently. Then they'll turn a blind eye when Israel continues with annexing the West Bank. They will paint themselves as the victim for having to take that land. And the West will nod and stand by them.
Israel knows that they can get away with it because they always do. For them, it's worth taking some "reputational damage" in the short run, because it's worth it in the long run.
