This mirrors my opinions on LLMs. LLMs are a deeply impressive technology, but, to explain the punchline to a Douglas Adams joke, technology is what we call stuff that doesn't work yet. I don't want my tech to be exciting, I want it to be reliable, which is pretty much the opposite of exciting.
A lot of other people seem to be very excited by LLMs and are having a great time with them, and I think that's great. One day, LLMs will be boring enough for me to like them, and it's the people who find them exciting today who are bringing on that boring future for me.
