I've been working on an open specification for services that want to provide ID verification while preserving users' privacy and anonymity. It's built on top of W3C Verifiable Credentials and compatible with any VC implementations out there. The project is still in its very early stages, but I've released a whitepaper to explain the approach. I'd be interested in feedback from anyone following the current landscape of ID verification law.
