Show HN: I built a Fivetran cost monitor app natively on Snowflake

From the time Fivetran switched to pricing based on MARs per connector this march, I’ve been hearing from data practitioners about how difficult it is to compute Fivetran’s pricing.

So I built a fivetran cost monitor, fully native on Snowflake using Streamlit, and published it as a free listing - just search for “ETL Cost Monitor” on the Snowflake Marketplace. It factors in your current pricing model and any contracted discount (for annual agreements) to provide a detailed breakdown using fivetran metadata tables: current and forecasted cost, connector‑level and table‑level cost distribution, and high‑volume connector insights.

You can also set a monthly budget and receive email alerts if actual or forecasted costs exceed the threshold. Alerts are also available for sudden MAR spikes. Alerts are handled using Snowflake tasks and email notification integrations created by the user.
