I’ve been eyeing various 3D printers for a while, but just can’t seem to pull the trigger. I can’t get past the idea that I’d be bringing something into my home where the primary function is melting plastic. I know myself well enough that I won’t put energy into any ventilation, so this just seems like a bad idea. I keep waiting for budget models that solve this problem well enough to dip my toe into the water. It seems like it’s perpetually 5 years away.
