Very in-depth and enjoyable to read. I have a real soft spot for running modern OSes on dated and/or underpowered machines.

Note the 4GB boot issue is only an issue if you use the netbsd bootblock to boot.

If loading the kernel with "loadbsd" from AmigaOS, you can have your netbsd partitions above 4GB just fine.

The (only?) annoyance is that you need a copy of the kernel somewhere AmigaOS can read.

I run it on my A1200 in this manner :)

Also note the mandb task takes a long time (longer on my 030@50 A1200), but only needs to run once, on the first boot.
