If it destroys the entire US auto industry, is that bad? Probably, but destroying industries is seen as good all the time. Cheap electric transportation will enable more transport, meaning new forms of work will spring up. It's the same argument that says that AI will add jobs in new areas just as much as it takes away in others, or cars will do for buggy makers.

It's funny how anti-innovation the US is when it's someone else's.

They have had .is for some time, citation via Wikipedia article for the site. I’ve tried to add inline citations for you if that helps.
