I worked on the first study to detect afib with an Apple Watch (plus a deep neural network): https://jamanetwork.com/journals/jamacardiology/fullarticle/...

These watches have come a long way, from simple optical heart rate sensors to FDA-cleared ECGs. Apple's afib algorithm was recently cleared by the FDA to validate _other_ algorithms, as one symbol of accuracy.

Atrial fibrillation is believed to cause 1 in 4 strokes, so there's real potential to save lives.

As someone who regularly gets afib (and doesn't particularly enjoy defibs), any research/work in this is welcomed. Thanks for what you've done!
