I genuinely wonder how much AOSP needs from Google nowadays.

I mean, the convergence stuff (Dex-thingy) sounds good: it would be great to plug an Android device to a docking station and use it as a computer.

Other than that... what is Google bringing that is not proprietary already? Genuinely asking, I don't know. I can't say that my Android is different today than it was 10 years ago.
