With authoritarian folks the amazing part is how even if you support their slogans or ideas generally they're not any good about accomplishing them, they'll ignore when they fail, they'll always tell you they did / will do the thing so well.
This fits Trump & Co's authoritarian style and total lack of curiosity / total lack of interest in taking input from people who know.
So here we are, the party that talks about government spending, trade, and debt hiding that their own policies create a worse situation.
