Windsurf says Anthropic is limiting its direct access to Claude AI models

Someone at Anthropic just ripped the bandaid. They are going to lose all Windsurf traffic and revenue eventually so it makes business sense to serve your long term customers better.

When a competitor buys you this happens. There are plenty of exceptions, however.
