Show HN: I made a site to mass-produce UGC short videos – it was hard

Hi HN, I’m Preet, solo founder of SuperStudentAI.com. I originally built ViralBatch to solve my own problem — creating promotional videos for SuperStudentAI on TikTok, Reels, and Shorts was incredibly time-consuming, expensive, and mentally draining. I was spending hours manually editing or using UGC tools that were slow, clunky, or overpriced.

After using the tool myself for a while, I realized a lot of other founders and creators were facing the same pain. So I decided to open it up for others too.

Originally, I ran my backend on a VPS with Nvidia GPUs using Docker + jrottenberg/ffmpeg — which took me a whole month to get right (pro tip: use that Docker image instead of manually installing Nvidia drivers). But the VPS cost $400+/month, which I couldn’t afford as a 21 yr old recent college grad solo founder from India.

To scale affordably, I rewrote the backend to run entirely on AWS Lambda, cloudflare workers. Since I use hono.js + JavaScript for my API, I didn’t have to rewrite routes — just had to adjust the database and figure out AWS Lambda’s not-so-great UI/UX. Packaging FFmpeg for Lambda was challenging, but it now lets me render 100+ videos in 5 minutes, all serverless and cost-efficient.

With ViralBatch, you can:

Generate dozens of unique, copyright-safe, shadowban-free videos in minutes to showcase your product or service.

There are alternatives of these but they are almost 10x more expensive than my service and not at all cost effective for creating 50+ videos; eg: reel.farm (very slow and super expensive yet they are still on 10k MRR with an inferior service)

If you’re a founder or creator struggling to ship video content fast and smart for your B2C service or physical product, check it out. I’d love feedback or thoughts from this community!
