AI discussions in the tech industry are puzzling to me. When I interact with people at work or with tech enthusiasts, it appears that the majority of individuals are either strongly pro-AI or believe it’s useless, with a relatively small number in the middle.
AI still has much room to improve, but it can be useful even today. Claude Code keeps improving and has helped me improve my productivity by performing maintenance tasks or creating PRs for simple defects. At the same time, peers working on the same code base as me state they find AI useless or always wrong.
I am not sure where I fall on the AI mass job replacement hype. It’s hard for me to determine if this is FUD from investors or actual something that will happen in the near future.
