Games have been running smoother on the same hardware under Linux/proton for ages - ask me, I used to dual boot for ages, but there's no point now, except if you're playing a game where the devs are actively hostile, like vermintide, which receives regular content updates, but the devs can't be arsed to update their EAC, which Valve has made a first-class citizen - just works.
Not to mention games like Apex which have some nasty-ass drm. Personally, I don't care for them, but aside from games specifically locked to windows (a small fraction), gaming under Linux is generally more peefomant.
