Asus routers are being hit with stealthy, persistent backdoor

Once again, an article about router vulnerabilities that doesn't bother to tell us if it's a hardware issue or a firmware issue. That is if we use OpenWrt, does this problem go away? Reading closely, my guess is "yes", but maybe not.

It is amusing that the attackers leave an ssh server running, indicating that Asus routers run some janky, outdated Linux.
